The Sounds of My Childhood

This is a song from a band called Kid Creole and the Coconuts. My dad had one of their tapes when I was little and we used to listen to it in the car all the time. It was pretty amazing. My favorite songs on it were the one above and No Fish Today (not a dirty song at all, I promise!). My dad’s favorite song to sing to me was Annie, I’m Not Your Daddy.

Sigh. It’s a wonder child services was never called.

Anyway, I don’t know where Kid Creole is today, but if you run into him let him know that he gave one little girl some great car rides with her daddy. (Or, Not-Daddy.)
